THE INTERMEDIATE  ACTIVITY LEADERSHIP APPRENTICESHIP

This Apprenticeship has been specifically designed for employers whose staff are not qualified PE teachers, however are contracted by infant, junior and primary schools to deliver PE, coaching and school sport.

It is particularly suited to young adults aged 16-23 years old looking to develop a career in activity leadership or sports coaching and physical education.

To successfully complete the Intermediate Activity Leadership Apprenticeship, the learner must complete, or demonstrate prior learning in, all four components of the framework:

  1. Competency: Level 2 NVQ Certificate in Activity Leadership (QCF).
  2. Knowledge: Level 2 Certificate in Supporting Learning in Physical Education and School Sport (QCF).
  3. Employer Rights & Responsibilities: Level 2 Award in Employment Awareness in Active Leisure & Learning (QCF).
  4. Functional Skills: Where apprentices do not already possess the desired Maths and English qualifications, the learner will complete the Functional Skills qualifications.
