This Apprenticeship is designed to provide a vocational pathway into the provision of Childrenís Physical Activity and School Sport delivery and development in a range of environments including the community and schools.

Itís particularly useful for those who already work, or aspire to work, in a physical education and school sport setting as it specifically designed to provide them with a greater understanding of programmes of study for physical education, the national curriculum and the environment in which they will be operating.


ESTís highly qualified and experienced Assessors will ensure that all learners receive the best in mentoring and training, whilst also benefitting from their personal experiences as sports coaches and PE teachers.

To successfully complete the Advanced School Sport Apprenticeship, the learner must complete, or demonstrate prior learning in, all four components of the framework:

  1. Competency & Knowledge: Level 3 NVQ Diploma in Supporting the Delivery of Physical Education and School Sport (QCF).
  2. Employer Rights & Responsibilities: Level 3 Award in Employment Awareness in Active Leisure & Learning (QCF).
  3. Functional Skills: Where apprentices do not already possess the desired Maths and English qualifications, the learner will complete the Functional Skills qualifications.
